1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern the ABS Complimentary Short Course Training Program and the use of the Complimentary Short Course Training and set out important information for the Benefit Recipient.
1.2 Each Benefit Recipient is responsible for complying with, and ensuring that any guests comply with, these Terms and Conditions.
1.3 These Terms and Conditions are effective from date of publication and may be amended from time to time.
2. DEFINITIONS
2.1 In these Terms and Conditions, unless the context otherwise requires:
‘ABS HE Course’ means the AIM Business School accredited higher education courses comprising of the Specialised Graduate Certificate courses, the Graduate Certificate in Management, the Graduate Diploma in Management and the Master of Business Administration (MBA). For the avoidance of doubt, it does not include Microcredential Courses;
‘AIM’ (also referred to as ‘us’) means Australian Institute of Management Education and Training Pty Limited (ACN 009 668 553);
‘AIM Short Courses’ means AIM unaccredited short courses offered by AIM as set out in the eligible AIM Short Course list from time to time;
‘Complimentary Short Course Training’ means the Complimentary Short Course Training issued to a Benefit Recipient;
‘Benefit Recipient’ (also referred to as 'you' or 'your') means a person whom is a participant in the ABS Complimentary Short Course Training Program and holds a Complimentary Short Course Training at the relevant time;
3. ABS COMPLIMENTART SHORT COURSE TRAINING PROGRAM
3.1 The ABS Complimentary Short Course Training Program is available to all ABS HE Courses students whom fulfil the following criteria:
(a)an ABS HE Course student whom is currently studying and actively progressing an ABS HE Course unit or units; or
(b)an ABS HE Course student whom has graduated from the ABS HE Course since January 2017.
3.3 For new students the ABS Complimentary Short Course Training Program Complimentary Short Course Training is valid for a term of five years commencing from initial ABS HE Course unit enrolment course start date.
3.4 For existing students the ABS Complimentary Short Course Training Program will be provided upon commencement of a unit after May 1st, 2018 and will be valid for four years.
3.5 The ABS Complimentary Short Course Training Program is not available to ABS HE Course students whom are part of a non-public, closed cohort ABS HE Course; enrolled through AIM WA; or any students’ residing outside of Australia.
4. COMPLIMENTARY SHORT COURSE TRAINING RULES
4.1 Your Complimentary Short Course Training will be sent to you electronically via email at the time of unit enrolment and activated either;
(a)when payment for the relevant AIM Business School HE Course unit is received; or
(b)at the expiration of ten (10) days from the commencement of the relevant AIM Business School HE Course unit.
4.2 It may take up to ten (10) to fourteen (14) business days for your new Complimentary Short Course Training to be issued and timeframes may be increased over a public holiday period.
4.3 You acknowledge and agree that the Complimentary Short Course Training is not redeemable for cash, not transferable and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or vouchers.
5. AIM SHORT COURSES
5.1 Benefit Recipient will need to enrol in available AIM Short Courses via the personalised link found in the email containing your Complimentary Short Course Training.
5.2 Benefit Recipient will have designated spots available in each AIM Short Course and is subject to course availability.
6. PERSONAL INFORMATION
6.1 It is a condition of the ABS Complimentary Short Course Training Program that you consent and authorise AIM to collect and use the information on your application form and other information you provide for the purpose of:
(a) AIM or any of its related bodies improving AIM customer service, including by means of research, marketing, product development and planning;
(b) AIM or any of its related bodies marketing its products or services or the products or services of third parties; and
(c) any third party providing services to AIM, any of its related bodies or Benefit Recipient in connection with the administration of the ABS Complimentary Short Course Training Program.
This information may be transferred to or from Australia for these purposes. If all or any part of requested information is not provided by the Benefit Recipient, the relevant services may be affected.
6.2 AIM will not otherwise disclose your personal information without your consent unless disclosure is either necessary to prevent a threat to life or health, authorised or required by law, reasonably necessary to enforce the law or necessary to investigate a suspected unlawful activity.
6.3 AIM will provide you with access to and the ability to correct your personal information held by AIM on request by you. Further information is contained in our Privacy of Student Information and Records.
7. CHANGES TO ABS COMPLIMENTARY SHORT COURSE TRAINING PROGRAM AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS
7.1 AIM reserves the right to vary the ABS Complimentary Short Course Training Program to which the Complimentary Short Course Training provides access, and these Terms and Conditions including but not limited to amending which AIM Short Courses are deemed eligible short courses to be included in on the eligible AIM Short Course list.
7.2 AIM will use reasonable endeavours to advise Benefit Recipient of any material changes to the ABS Complimentary Short Course Training Program including but limited to by publishing the changes in myABS.
7.3 AIM will give notice of any material changes to these Terms and Conditions that will apply to a Benefit Recipient current access period by publishing the changes on the myABS platform or via its website at https://www.aimbusinessschool.edu.au/.
8. LIABILITY
8.1 Some of the goods or services which are offered or provided to Benefit Recipient in addition to the benefits offered as part of the ABS Complimentary Short Course Training Program provided by AIM may be supplied by third party suppliers. The provision of those goods or services will be subject, in each case, to the terms and conditions of the suppliers and any claims relating to the supply of those goods or services should be made to the supplier.
8.2 AIM will not be liable for refusal by any third party to accept or honour the Complimentary Short Course Training nor will AIM be liable for any loss or damage suffered in relation to the supply of goods or services by third parties.
8.3 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions operates to limit or exclude liability that cannot by law be limited or excluded. AIM acknowledges that the Benefit Recipient may be a consumer for the purposes of applicable State or Federal law in Australia, with the consequence that certain guarantees may be conferred on the Benefit Recipient and certain rights and remedies conferred on the Benefit Recipient, which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AIM’s liability to the Benefit Recipient in respect of a breach of a guarantee or a warranty under these Terms and Conditions is limited to the resupply of the relevant benefit or benefits of the ABS Complimentary Short Course Training Program.
9. TERMINATION
9.1 AIM reserves the right to terminate or cease to operate the ABS Complimentary Short Course Training Program at any time.
9.2 AIM reserves the right in its absolute discretion to terminate the use of any Complimentary Short Course Training at any time by giving such notice to the Benefit Recipient as soon as is reasonably practicable.
Complimentary Short Course Training termination includes,
- Not actively progressing in their qualification.
- Does not give necessary notice of enrolment cancellation of short courses.
- Not complying to AIM’s policies and procedures
- None adherence to the Complimentary Short Course Training terms and conditions
9.3 AIM reserves the right to terminate the Complimentary Short Course Training if the Benefit Recipient withdraws from their ABS HE Course or unit, is not actively enrolled in a current unit, or fails to make payment in the required timeframes.
